The Longest Day of the Year..... Mess Around!

Zack-Attack is getting used to biking with his hard cast on..... Since his 1st ride, he's upped his miles each and every time!
Although, we have to stay on fairly smooth surfaces for the time being.
That too shall pass!! Lol
Pedal On!!!

Back In The Saddle!!!!

Z got his hard, much shorter cast on yesterday afternoon. It's going to take some getting used to, but I'm sure he'll be just fine!!

He only made it a little more than a mile, before J and I heard "my arm is getting sore." So we turned around and headed for home.
Step one!!!
Pedal On!!

The Legendary Laurentian

Iron Range gravel?
Tune up for The Heck???

It'll be fall in the northland, spend it here riding your bike with like minded people; what more do you want???

A fun festival atmosphere, with multiple bike related activities. Info here.

I Never Realized

Just how much the kids and I pedal together.......
Yes, I know we pedal together more than the average pedal to the park family.
I'm not even saying how little I also ride with others....... Let's just say it's right around 98%, enough said!!
Although since this boy broke his wing.......

I never gave it much thought....
I'd get home from work, and we'd saddle up and go for a pedal. OR
I'd or Mom would hear "I'm bored" one to many times, and we'd saddle up and ride!
Since his arm was broken two days before school was let out for summer (!!!!!!!!!) not going for a pedal was just an afterthought!
Arm was broken while racing his sister when the curb from hell jumped in front of him!! Lol
Lesson....... Take curbs at the proper angle, and one does not always have to be in 1st place to have a fun time!!!
The bigger lesson..........................
PEDAL IN THE WOODS!!!
These past few weeks that lesson has been hammered home in a big way!!
A wrist to just below the elbow cast should be going on this coming Tuesday, and then it'll be back to this.......

In no time!!
Pedal On!!
Peace

They're Only Young Once!!!

There are certain advantages to being laid-off; and most of it has nothing to do with the lack of funds!!! Lol
I've been piling up the miles, bonus!!
Also, if working, I'd miss out on school functions like the one I attended at the local park here in town for our Jenna's class. Big BIG bonus!!!

And my personal favorite...... Making chalk body outlines!!
Yes, I started it....
Ha Ha Ha  ;)

And then I pedaled around town before I made my way home; and one can't make a blog post on a bike blog without a bike!!!!!

I.R.O.C.'s 1st 2014 Meeting

Was very well attended..... 35-45 guys, maybe more....filled the lunch area deep inside the Mn. Discovery Center. There were people from Grand Rapids to Ely in attendance. That covers all of the Iron Range!!
Hopefully with the momentum of this meeting, the wheels keep rolling toward new trails in the northland!!
Goals, vision and future club plans were shared.
Then Hansi Johnson got up and did his thing. Lots of numbers....... Examples of how other clubs are doing things throughout the Midwest. GRIMBA, Copper Harbor, Cuyuna, and COGGS were a few examples.
Good info for sure!
Thanks goes to Hansi for giving us his time and knowledge!!
Also thanks to Pete and Luther for putting together an A+ kickoff to 2014!!!!

Any future information about I.R.O.C. Events/goals so forth and so on can be had at the Facebook page or official I.R.O.C. website...... Directions to both places are in the "links" section to the right.
I don't want to step on anyone's toes by posting info here is why I'm saying this. If I feel like it's something that needs to be posted up here I'll do it..... But in general check the official sites for normal info.
Thanks!!
Things are looking up for mountain biking on Minnesota's Iron Range!!!!

Pedal On!!

C.O.L.D.

It's NOT what you think!! LOL
Show them some love by giving them a "like!" Bookmark their blog site, and sit back and watch off road riding grow on Minnesota's Iron Range!!!

While we get set for our annual dumping of April snowfall...... Some people are whining, some people are REALLY whining and some people are throwing their hands up saying "No Mas."
Whatever camp you land in after this winter, don't worry...... shorts riding weather is truly right around the corner!!

Getting the Iron Range of northern Minnesota covered, one club at a time!!
Welcome boys!! The more the merrier!!

Be it road riding, off-road riding; or FatBiking......... It's still on two wheels...... being moved on down the "whatever" surface by human power!!
PEDAL ON!!!
